2025 Early Accomplishment Award Recipient
This award is presented to an APEGA professional member who has shown exceptional accomplishment early in their engineering or geoscience career.
Raman Gill, P.Eng.
A Rising Star in Engineering

Reflecting a dynamic blend of technical expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for empowering others, professional engineer Raman Gill is a force in the engineering industry. With nine years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, Gill’s journey began in 2017 at Bankers Petroleum Ltd., where she played a key role in developing the Patos-Marinza oilfield, the largest onshore oilfield in continental Europe.
Her career took a new direction at PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada (PwC Canada), where she joined the operations practice as a management consultant. Gill’s innovative mindset drove success in public sector projects, energy-sector proposals, and internal development initiatives. She also supported the Women’s Inclusion Network at PwC, hosting leadership development events, creating resources to support new hires, and fostering development and inclusivity.
In 2020, Gill stepped into the world of entrepreneurship with a boutique consulting firm, Fracture Modeling Inc., founded by her father, also a chemical engineer. The company, specializing in field development planning, A&D evaluations, and wellbore optimization studies, rapidly grew, serving clients within North America and internationally. Now, Raman is the head of corporate development and cofounder of Apar Energy Inc.
“Being with smaller companies gave me invaluable exposure and broadened my perspective as an engineer, helping me think more critically and adapt more effectively.”
Gill received a Forte Foundation Scholarship and is earning an executive MBA from Queen’s University and Cornell University. She has also completed a micro-credential in carbon capture and storage. She is committed to supporting her community as a participant and graduate of the Avatar Innovations Program and the GenNext Leadership Development Program through United Way Calgary and Area.
This is also evident in Gill’s founding of the Apar Initiative to empower girls in STEM, her work serving on the Boards of the Calgary Petroleum Club and STEM Innovation Academy, and her involvement with Young Women in Energy’s Acumen Program, which is focused on highlighting diversity in Alberta’s energy sector.
Gill’s contributions showcase the Early Accomplishment Summit Award’s requirements of leadership, innovation, and community impact. Her efforts inspire the next generation, proving that youth hold boundless potential.
