Personal Statement
With more than 20 years of leadership experience across federal, provincial, and municipal governments and the private sector, I bring a proven track record of governance, regulatory excellence, and strategic leadership to APEGA Council. My career has been dedicated to advancing public trust, fostering professional integrity, and delivering innovative solutions to address complex challenges in Alberta’s engineering and geoscience professions.
I hold a master of science in environmental engineering and a master of business administration in natural resources, energy, and environment from the University of Alberta. These qualifications, along with my board experience, equip me to lead with transparency, accountability, and forward-thinking decisions. I have a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and the importance of balancing innovation with public protection.
Giving back to the profession is at the core of my values. As a member of APEGA’s Board of Examiners, I have upheld the highest professional standards. I am passionate about mentoring young professionals and championing women in engineering and science through partnerships with universities and Indigenous communities to inspire the next generation of leaders.
If elected, I will focus on strengthening self-regulation, championing diversity, enhancing member value, and driving innovation to prepare Alberta’s professions for future challenges. Together, we can uphold APEGA’s legacy of excellence.

APEGA faces challenges in adapting to rapid technological advancements while ensuring public safety and trust. Balancing innovation with robust regulatory oversight, addressing diversity gaps to create an inclusive profession, and managing increasing public expectations for transparency and accountability are critical. Additionally, attracting and retaining skilled professionals amidst global competition remains vital to maintaining Alberta’s leadership in engineering and geoscience excellence.
