APEGA Science Olympics
In-person events in Edmonton and Calgary | April 7 & May 25, 2024
The APEGA Science Olympics are interactive, interschool events for students in grades 1–12 that take learning beyond the classroom. Students are presented with a series of problem-solving challenges that demonstrate the fun side of engineering and geoscience, enabling them to experience how these fields affect our everyday lives.
On the day of the event, students bring their challenge prototypes to the venue for judging. At the event, they also complete a mystery challenge and compete with other teams within their division. Over 4,000 attendees are anticipated at this year's events.

APEGA Summit Awards
In-person celebration in Edmonton | April 25, 2024
APEGA’s Summit Awards Gala is our major annual recognition event for registrants and permit holders. Each year, APEGA recognizes professional engineers and professional geoscientists who have made outstanding contributions to their profession or their community. Up to 10 awards are presented each year, chosen from nominations sent in by fellow registrants, colleagues, students, and the public.

Building Mental Health Series
A virtual series | October 2024
Building Mental Health Together is a multi-part webinar series that sees over 1,200 attendees. Featuring different professional mental health researchers and experts, each session will empower audience members to maintain own mental health and become mental health champions for themselves and those around them. All sessions in this series are free and open to the public.
APEGA Branches
APEGA supports 10 branches in various geographic regions of Alberta. The branches are volunteer-run and organize activities throughout the year to engage their communities and enhance the profile of the professions in their regions. These include networking events, branch luncheons, golf tournaments, professional development sessions, industry tours, and science nights.

Branch activities
Sponsor a branch-specific activity and have your company top of mind when APEGA registrants in that region are engaged in learning, networking, or socializing. Activities can include professional development sessions, outreach events for K-12 or university students, social events, networking events, and more! As a sponsor, you get your name or logo recognized during the event.
Golf tournaments
Each year, branches organize multiple golf tournaments across Alberta. These well-attended events are great for making connections and developing a network of fellow engineers and geoscientists in your area. Tournaments are beginner-friendly—all experience levels are welcome! Sponsorship recognition is based on level of sponsorship and branch region.
