Embark on a journey through the project risk management process from inception to closing. This course is intended to introduce the fundamentals of project risk management and qualitative risk management. Participants will learn how to plan and execute the risk management process throughout the project lifecycle. The course will also provide an opportunity for the participants to carry out the risk management process on a fictitious project.

In this immersive course, participants will not only learn the fundamentals of risk management but will also gain practical strategies that can be implemented immediately on their projects. This course will go beyond the confines of a traditional lecture format by using word clouds, polls, and a real-time collaborative virtual whiteboard, ensuring an engaging learning experience.

The learning goal of this course is for the participants to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in managing risk throughout the project lifecycle. By the end of this course, the participants should:

  • learn the fundamentals of risk management and how to plan and execute the risk management process throughout the project lifecycle.
  • gain knowledge of the qualitative risk management process, including identifying, assessing, categorizing, prioritizing, and responding to risks.
  • learn about important tools such as the Risk Management Plan and Risk Register.

About the speaker

Mark Jergeas, P.Eng., PMP, is a PM specialist & instructor who brings two decades of industry experience as a mechanical engineer and a project management professional. Throughout his tenure, he has worked for engineering, construction and owner organizations (TC Energy, Enbridge, AltaGas, and Bechtel/Bantrel).


Mark acted as a project manager on 15 projects throughout his career ranging from $25 to $750 million in value and with a wide range of scope, size, and complexity. Mark also held the role of senior project advisor at TC Energy prior to launching iProjects, a firm dedicated to the craft of project management.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Mark believes in giving back to his community and profession. He's been honored to serve as chair of APEGA’s Calgary Branch Executive Committee and dedicates his time to volunteering with CCIS (Calgary Catholic Immigration Society).
