Webinar | School Travel Planning in Lethbridge
The City of Lethbridge has completed the development of school travel plans for two elementary schools. The primary objective of the plans is to increase the use of active travel modes to and from the school, along with improving road safety around the school. Active travel refers to transportation using human-powered modes such as walking, cycling, using a wheelchair or scooter, skateboarding, and rollerblading. School travel planning has had much success at other schools across the country, helping to improve children’s physical and mental health and reduce traffic congestion and emissions. The school travel plans initiative resulted from the recommendations of the first Transportation Safety Plan of the City of Lethbridge. This webinar will present the process and results of this planning exercise.
