Message from Carol Moen, P.Eng., Registrar [2013-2017]
It is often said that good conversations begin with good listening. It’s true. Through the ongoing legislative review consultations, APEGA is enjoying a really great conversation with Members and Permit Holders about the key aspects of our guiding legislation.
On March 18, APEGA published the latest survey results and feedback gathered in the winter 2016 consultations through the Winter 2016 We’re Listening report. Based on the information we received, it’s clear we are on the right track with the proposed recommendations related to strengthening the professions by improving our professional practices.
Council endorsed the recommendations with minor revisions.
Many thanks to everyone who attended a consultation session or submitted feedback through the survey. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
As Professional Engineers and Professional Geoscientists, your involvement directly shapes the future legislation that guides the professions in Alberta.
Below is a summary of each of the proposed recommendations.
Authority of the Practice Review Committee
Authority of Practice Review Committee Practice Standards, Guidelines, and Bulletins
Practice Review Committee Authority of Reviewers to Make Recommendations
Practice Review Committee Authority of Panels to Make Orders
