In Person (2 day) | Leadership in Safety and Risk Management

25 Sep 2024
Register by September 16, 2024

This course explores the significance of leadership in fostering a conducive environment for risk management in engineering. It delves into leadership principles and their practical application for implementing risk management strategies across various engineering sectors. A fundamental tenet is that every engineer is inherently involved in risk management, irrespective of their organizational rank or operational discipline. By emphasizing sound risk management practices and cultivating a culture of prevention, organizations can mitigate losses from incidents and enhance their reputation within their respective industries.

This course adopts a blend of theoretical concepts and hands-on learning, including case study analyses and interactive exercises, to equip participants with the ability to assess and foster a culture of prevention, as well as to recognize and develop leadership qualities pertinent to risk management within their own organizational contexts.

The course leverages industry best practices and real-world examples to provide practical insights and actionable strategies that participants can apply in their professional roles, ultimately empowering them to drive positive change and promote a culture of safety and risk management excellence within their teams and organizations.

This course is designed for a diverse audience, including members-in-training, early-career professional engineers and geoscientists, and experienced professionals who may not have received formal training or education in safety and risk management.

This session will be held at APEGA's Edmonton office and is a two day course. Lunch will be served. Your dietary requirements will be recorded in the registration.
