Register by July 4, 2024

This presentation covers a topic that has been garnering significant interest in the last few years: drought.

Alberta is currently facing a crisis-level water shortage as many areas, particularly in the southern part of the province, are dealing with drought conditions.

In this session, we'll delve into the importance of understanding drought, exploring its diverse forms and underlying causes, with a particular focus on the impact of climate change. The session will highlight tools for identifying droughts and discuss drought impacts on humans, the environment, and the economy. Moreover, we will dissect mitigation strategies, discuss future challenges and opportunities, and delve into drought planning and the relevant guidelines set forth by Alberta.

Brought to you by the Lethbridge Branch. Everyone is welcome to attend.
