Peace Region Branch
Message from the Chair
Greetings from the APEGA Peace Region Branch. We offer a chance for professional engineers, professional geoscientists, and members in training to become involved in promoting our profession to the Peace Region, and to network with fellow members. From our Executive Branch volunteer groups in both Grande Prairie and Peace River, we offer opportunities within the region to get together and be involved in events, including:
- golf tournaments
- junior and senior high science Olympics
- professional development courses and luncheons
- elementary and community science nights
- member social mixers
- president visits and member induction evenings
- P.Eng. application information sessions
- high school in-class information sessions
We hold meetings every second Wednesday of the month, between 6:00PM - 7:00PM at McElhanney Engineering office in Grande Prairie, and the first Thursday evening of the month at the Peace Regional Library, between 6:30PM - 7:30PM . If you are interested in getting involved, please email [email protected]
Every volunteer is important and makes us better.
Branch Executive
APEGA’s branch executive committees are an integral part of APEGA operations and are governed by the branch manual. The committee includes up to 15 appointed volunteers, including members-at-large and five core positions: chair, past-chair, vice-chair, treasurer, and secretary. The branch chair is responsible for running the branch. To ensure consistency among branches, chairs from all branches meet quarterly to discuss branch governance and business.
