Submitting Complaints Against Unlicensed Individuals & Companies
APEGA regulates the practices of engineering and geoscience in Alberta through the Engineering and Geoscience Professions (EGP) Act. Individuals and companies must be licensed by APEGA to provide engineering and/or geoscience services in Alberta.
Before submitting a complaint, you must confirm that the person or company is not licensed by APEGA.
If the person or company is licensed, please follow our investigation process to
submit a complaint.
Submission Process
For APEGA to review your complaint, you may include evidence that the person or company is using reserved titles, terms, or designations or is practising engineering and/or geoscience in Alberta without a licence.
You do not need to provide originals. We will accept photocopies, photographs, and screen captures.
Examples of evidence include:
- business cards
- company directories
- listings in phonebooks or other public directories
- newspaper, magazine, or other advertisements
- websites or social media pages
- emails or documents that can be shared publically
Email your complaint and supporting evidence to [email protected] or send to APEGA’s Edmonton office, attention: Unlicensed Practice department.
You can submit your complaint anonymously.
