English Language Competency Requirements for Professional Licensee Applications
Proving your English language competency (ELC) is required for those applying as a professional member, licensee, or professional licensee. If you have not completed an undergraduate degree where the content of the program was taught in English, you must be able to demonstrate your competency in English.
The Board of Examiners (BOE) will review your work experience record and application information for the demonstration of meeting the ELC requirement.
The BOE may request additional information to prove your ELC if it has been determined that you have not satisfied this requirement. This will be communicated to you by the BOE and may include a requirement to pass the TOEFL test.
Score 100 or More on the English-as-a-Foreign-Language (TOEFL) Exam
To meet the English-competency requirement, email APEGA a copy of your TOEFL score sheet at [email protected], or upload it to your application before submitting it.
APEGA only accepts TOEFL certifications. We recommend you take the TOEFL from Educational Testing Services Canada. We do not accept results from all exam providers, such as IELTS, TESL, and EAL.
