Since 2007, the GeoSkills conference has connected university students with Professional Geoscientists. It is organized by APEGA (The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta) with the help of geoscience students from the University of Calgary (Rundle Group of Geology and the Geophysics Undergraduate Student Society), University of Alberta (PS Warren Geological Society and the University of Alberta Geophysics Undergraduate Society) and Mount Royal University (Joli Fou Geological Society).
GeoSkills gathers speakers, students and Professional Geoscientists together for one day of seminars and informal learning about the tools required to succeed in the profession. The event includes a mixer where attendees enjoy food and networking with peers and Professional Geoscientists. It is open to any Professional Geoscientist or university student.
